Festive Opening Hours

Just a little post to let you know our opening hours over the upcoming festive period …. although I have to wonder how have we arrived at this point in the year so soon??!

Anyhoo, if you’re in need of an emergency gift, wrap or card for that person we all forget about then we will be open until 3pm on Christmas Eve (although please note the ‘..ish’ closing time) to help.

We will reopen on Friday 27th December and will be very pleased to see you if you are out and about in town stretching your legs and getting some fresh air!

From all of the team here at Rhubarb we’d like to thank you for supporting us and wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a happy and healthy new year! x

Christmas ordering

Just a little housekeeping post…

To be sure your gifts and treats arrive before the big day and with Royal Mail being quite so busy we have decided that next Friday 20th December will be our cut off for guaranteed Christmas delivery.

We use Royal Mail First Class Tracked for all orders. Over the last few weeks and months Royal Mail have provided an excellent service getting huge bunnies to Devon in less than eighteen hours or emergency penguins up to Aberdeen quick smart!

But I do think we need to ease the stress and I’d rather not have any sleepless nights worrying about orders!

To think two weeks today we will be lolling on the sofa in a turkey torpor waiting for the Wizard of Oz to begin

In other news, I’ve been working at the shop today giving the shelves a top up and things a general tidy and swizz round. So if you’re still ticking things off your list or maybe you are one of these very lucky, calm and unhurried people who have yet to start then pop in. x

We’re back!

First and foremost, how are you?  I hope you, your family and friends have safely made it through lockdown.  It’s been a difficult time and a rollercoaster for most of us hasn’t it, not all of us have been baking sourdough and learning a new language!

Still we have come through it, and finally we were allowed to reopen on the 1st July.  Obviously there are some changes in store to the way we now have to do things, but I hope nothing to onerous.  You will need to wear a mask (mandatory in Scotland) sanitise your hands on arrival, we will have to limit the amount of customers in the shop at any one time – but we are fortunate to have a large space so I do hope that makes you feel comfortable.

We had just completed a refresh of the shop just before the closure and were excited for you all to see our handy work, along with a lot of brand new products.  I will in the coming weeks and months try to give you a flavour of our new stock in our online shop.

If anything positive is to come out of this it is that I have finally found the time to concentrate on rhubarb online and will continue to do so, we now offer a click and collect service or FREE same day delivery within Kirkcudbright alongside our usually first class post.  We can also now offer after hours ‘shopping by appointment’ if you’d feel safer – just drop me and email an I can arrange it, really it’s no problem.

I’ll keep you posted with new products and services as they arise, for really up-to-date news find us on Facebook or Instagram…..look for rhubarb_kirkcudbright.

Stay safe and there are better times ahead..

Coronavirus

As I’m sure most of you are aware, along with all other non essential businesses we closed our doors from Monday March 23rd.   It was a necessary but nevertheless sad decision more especially as we had just completed decorating and refreshing the shop and were really excited to share our efforts with you.

Since then we have been working behind the scenes in preparedness for reopening whenever we are told it is safe to do so.  I’m sure we will have to cope with a new ‘normal’ with some restrictions for awhile to come, we hope you can bear with us while we adjust to this.

In the meantime I plan to try and keep our website updated with new stock arrivals, if it helps please note that we can gift wrap parcels (free of charge)  and write messages in cards and onto labels for you….should you need to post out a gift.  It is important not to forget to celebrate birthdays, anniversary’s, new arrivals, just say ‘thank you’ or let some one know you are thinking of them.

If we can be of help please email me directly on info@rhubarb-homeware.co.uk and I can help with gift ideas, send photos and organise your gift and postage.

All of us here at rhubarb send much love to you and your families, keep well and safe and we will hopefully see you on the other side. x
